I got the page proofs for REST a few days ago, and am now working through them.

It’s always interesting and a little disorienting to see your words at this stage. The book went through rigorous editing and copy editing, which means it’s quite different than the book I started writing, but much more the book that needed to be written: the prose is tighter, the argument more focused, and it’s gone from a ramshackle structure to something more Bauhaus. I like it, but it’s a bit of a revelation.
