For the last few weeks I’ve been finishing the revisions to my book on deliberate rest, and so have been focused on that instead of the blog. As much as I enjoy doing stuff online, I find that working on a book requires a gigantic amount of sustained attention, and so there are phases– especially as deadlines draw near– when I ignore things that aren’t absolutely essential and time-dependent. When I’m writing, that means life strips down to my day job, stuff at home with family and the dogs, and going to the gym, and that’s pretty much it.
However, the book is now in production: it’s been assigned to a copyeditor, the graphic artist has put together a cover, and things are moving along for publication in December.
I’ve loved writing the book, but I won’t mind a few weeks where it’s not organizing my life.
So now I’m in the process of catching up on email, other little projects, a long list of things I’d seen in the news but hadn’t posted about.
