An article about REST is out in the Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad. It quotes me as saying “Je brein werkt door als je bewust rust.” It might also be a warning. Or a joke.
I can’t tell. I don’t speak Dutch, so I have no idea.
Yet, in some way, these are still my words. I can’t make sense of them, but assuming the writer took accurate notes (and given how many messages Rosan Hollak and I exchanged in the run-up to the piece, I assume her notes are really extensive), I said them.
I dwell on this because for a writer, it’s an interesting experience being cut off from your words this way. And as REST moves into new markets, it’s happening more and more often.
