Okay, the title's not exactly correct, but still that's the basic idea for a jacket with a pocket that disables your cellphone antenna:

I'm not sure that it's very practical, but I'm intrigued by the idea that putting the phone in a special place that disables its functionality will be more reliable than remembering to turn it off and back on. There are a couple problems that our current manual system create:
- Having the phone go off in inappropriate locations because we forget to turn it off;
- Missing a call or text because we forget to turn the phone back on.
My kids both now have cellphones, and my wife and I are working to get them into the habit of remembering to text us when they're on their way to sports practice, going to the library, etc.– AND both turning off their phones when they need to, and switching them back on or checking to see if they're on. Of course, there are times I still forget to do this, but I'm hopeful that it won't take 10,000 hours of practice to get it right.
