So yesterday I spent an hour with the great Vincent Horn, cofounder of the Buddhist Geeks empire. We talked about the book, contemplative computing, contemplative practice, and all sorts of other things– technological determinism, why we have trouble recognizing agency in our use of devices, etc..
It'll be compressed into a 30-minute podcast soon, but if you really want, the raw video is now up:
As is often the case when you're fielding open-ended questions, I'm a lot more discursive than I would be on a radio show. Plus Vince is interested in all kinds of different things, so we ranged rather more widely than I did in 6 minutes on Bulldog and Coach Al in the mornings (seriously, though, I loved you guys).
I'm getting better at the short format interviews, and my talks are good. Now I have to figure out how to make my long format interviews better.
It was my first experience with Google Hangouts, and I have to say: I. Was. Impressed.
And I need to clean my desk. Though it rarely looks any better than it did yesterday.
Maybe if I set up a copy of the book jacket, that'll look a little better.
