I recently found out about a Canadian company, CanFocus, and their in-development product, MyFocus. You might think of it as a neutron bomb for digital distractions: it's a single device they claim works across many devices– laptop, smartphone, etc.– to "'interrupt the interruptions' in both the physical and digital worlds."
What I find especially interesting is that it's a physical object, essentially a button that glows red or green, depending on your (attentional and digital) state: red means do not disturb, while green means you're interruptable. Of course they have a Kickstarter campaign running, which has lots of videos.
I don't yet know what kinds of results they've gotten from user testing, or what early feedback is like, but I'm curious to hear.
