Description: In this online workshop I’ll discuss moving from academic to trade press writing and publishing. I’ll provide a brief overview of the mechanics of trade press publishing (agent representation, proposal development, contracts, etc.); outline the differences between writing for academic versus trade presses; and argue that writing for a popular audience allows you do intellectually rewarding work, leverage your academic training, and develop a more sustainable and satisfying authorial voice and career.
